FCMB Founder, Subomi Balogun Dies at 89

Foremost banker and founder of First City Monument Bank, Otunba Submit Balogun is dead. He died in London Friday morning. A top Ijebu son who was the Olori Omo Oba Akile of Ijebuland.

Chief Michael Olasubomi “Subomi” Balogun (born 9 March 1934) was a foremost banker and philanthropist who founded First City Merchant Bank, a company that later became the FCMB group.

The flamboyant banker was a long time member of the council of the Nigerian Stock Exchange
